There are so many good quotes in this book and so many good ideas that I don’t really know where to start. However, what inspired me to crack open my laptop @ 11:05 pm when I should be sleeping on this post Thanksgiving Monday was this quote about time outside in nature:
“It is the important work. Being in nature, as Louv wrote, helps children “realize that school isn’t supposed to be a polite form of incarceration, but a portal to a wider world.”
This quote and the whole book really made me re- realize that we owe our children freedom|childhood. To be children is to be free: to know you will be fed and to have time to just be. This is the entitlement of every child, it is the entitlement of humanity.
